GRANT AID

Click here for an application form and here for the present conditions of funding.

The Trust funds activities related to the promotion of the Irish language, primarily in Northern Ireland. Activities do not necessarily have to be conducted through the medium of Irish, but such activities should involve language promotion, awareness-raising or prejudice reduction.

The Trust tends to fund strategically, looking for new projects which can develop the language in innovative ways, support activities in communities where there has been little activity in the past, or support new kinds of activities where the language is already established.

Most of our funding is for one-off projects. We support projects that can be self-sustaining in the long-term or access long-term funding from other sources.

Any funding application involving the arts will be assessed primarily in terms of its impact on language promotion, language learning, and the provision of social contexts in which the language can be used.

The Trust is happy to advise on Irish-language applications outside its immediate remit.
